Well hello, I am really unsure of what I am doing and I do not know if anyone will even care to read this.

For quite some time now though I have been feeling the need to start a blog as to document some of the many thoughts that race through my head on a daily basis. Some of them I find to be useful, others maybe not, but regardless I progress. 😉

I love fashion with every being of my soul and I have for quite some time now, but aside from that I want to share with others the fun of fashion and what I like to call the “magic” of fashion.

I can’t pinpoint the exact day or even how old I was exactly, when I put on THE outfit that made me feel unstoppable. Honestly I may not have even looked cute, but the way I felt in an outfit I had compiled on my own was a high I had never felt before and from then on, I was hooked.

I know it was sometime during high school and it was then that I decided to go to college for Fashion Merchandising. I started a career in retail part time, while in college at the age of eighteen. My junior year of college I traveled to New York to complete a three month long internship with the one and only Burberry corporate office where I  got to experience market week and rub elbows with some of the company’s elite. I swear I felt like Anne Hathaway at times in “The Devil Wears Prada”. (More to come on that experience later.)

I was also the assistant manager of a local boutique where I dedicated four years of my life to and learned the ropes of retail so to speak. Now I work as a visual merchandiser for a huge company, who I will refrain from telling you the name of, but it’s the store everyone loves to hate. This store is a mad house and they knock off every designer out there, but the cuteness of their fast fashion pieces and outrageously affordable prices are undeniably irresistible. I am learning so much and having a great time while doing so.

Through the last few years I have helped the ones I love with shopping or choosing outfits for special events, I guess I have a “knack for it”. (At least that is what everyone seems to tell me.) I just see fashion in a way that probably  most people do not. Mixing colors, prints, textiles, and styles, following trends and reading industry news is fascinating. The art form of fashion is a major industry that most people don’t even pay attention to. Yet, what you wear on a daily basis really defines who you are and how you come across to others.

Physical appearance is the first thing people acquire of you before you even open your mouth to speak and this fact is undeniable.Wouldn’t  you want that first impression to be jaw dropping? I know everyone says looks do not matter and what other people think of you do not matter, but how YOU feel about yourself does matter. When you wear something you feel so confident in, you glow from the inside out. An outfit can compliment you in such a way that makes you stand out. Who doesn’t want to stand out, honestly? Even if you do not care what people think about you, the clothes you decide to put on that morning define you. Do you want to feel confident and happy in your own skin and maybe even turn a few heads? Or would you rather float through life never reaching your fullest potential of complete confidence?

Fashion isn’t about looking sexy, hot, or pretty. It isn’t meant to show off your body, or for some to hide it. Fashion is allowing yourself to feel like gold. It isn’t about labels and brands. Creating outfits for me at least, is an expression of art and with this blog I hope to inspire others to think outside the box, to share my fashion ideas, along with some of the latest industry trends, to let you know that fashion can be cute AND comfortable, and that wearing stylish outfits can make you feel like a million bucks. So before you put on that t-shirt and those work out pants, please do me a favor and think twice!

More to come soon, but until next time,

stay cute, stay sweet.
