Hi everyone and Happy Father’s Day,

So I didn’t get an opportunity to post Friday like I had hoped for, but this weekend my husband and I went home for the first time in two months. Which isn’t that long, but it is the longest we have ever been away. Going home really felt great and it made me remember how much I really love my family and friends. I know this has nothing to do with fashion, what so ever but I still wanted to share as I am feeling nostalgic.

I had some of these and to all of you who have never had crawfish before, I am deeply sorry. You have no idea what you are missing out on. photo 1 copy 7

Eating boiled crawfish is one of the many wonderful things about living in LA.

I wanted to share my feelings tonight though because there is something really great about going back to places that are so familiar to you, and seeing that although you have been gone, everything is pretty much the exact same. Seeing people you know, and doing things that you have done a thousand times growing up actually seem fun again. This weekend, we also saw family members that we hadn’t seen in a long time as well. Being back home with family really puts your heart and mind at ease. Being with loved ones, helps you to stop and see the big picture. To realize there is no point in stressing over the small things, or getting overwhelmed by things that are irrelevant.

I am sorry if this post bore you since it is a little more personal, but I am only sharing to help you. By that I mean, if you live far from home, and even if you don’t live far from home, but you haven’t reached out to certain family members or friends lately, maybe you should.

Life is too short for us to get wrapped up in the monotony of our everyday routines. Everyone should take a moment at some point during the week to stop and make that phone call you keep putting off, or send that email, or make that visit. Because you just don’t know how quickly things happen, and all of a sudden someone is gone. Never take anything, or anyone in life for granted.
