Slip Dress, Yes?

why hello again,

yep…I have been slacking and I am sorry. I hope you all had a fantastic Fourth of July. I did, we went home for a long weekend in the country. Here I am swinging on my husband’s little sister’s tree swing!photo-12

Things are a-changing, I don’t know about you, but they are for me! I have been doing so much lately, experiencing so much, and I am kind of at a crossroad in my life. I recently left my job of visual merchandising for the huge company I worked for a little less than a year because something in my heart has changed. I love fashion and everything related to it, but I do not want it as my career at the moment. My boss was completely understanding and told me that I was experiencing a quarter life crisis and I guess I am. But I am hoping that by not using my creative juices during the day merchandising, I will be able to produce the most creative and amazing fashion posts for you all in my off time. I am on the job hunt though as we speak, and it is no fun.

I DO have a confession to make though, I feel that I have committed a fashion felony yesterday. I went to the grocery store…in workout clothes. I knowwwwww, I was so grossed out when I realized it upon leaving the house. BUT, I did actually workout after shopping so at least I didn’t appear as an exercise poser. I do feel pretty guilty about doing it though, because I so strongly disagree with workout clothes in public, outside of physical activity. Please cut me some slack, I am going through a life change, haha.

Moving along to what I actually need to tell you guys. I don’t know if you have seen, but I am in love with this trend of slip dresses.

It’s kind of a 90’s thing, but Whitney Port wrote about it and Free People has a really pretty one too. I recently purchased my own at Forever 21 and I have to share it with you. A lady actually stopped me in public, begging me to tell her where my dress was from, but here you go.

picstitch copy 3There is something kind of sexy, but sweet about it. Which I think is why it catches so much attention. It is so comfortable though since it is so simple.

You can’t go wrong with a floppy straw hat either. I think this hat actually helped me take some great shots because I felt so chic! hahah I just hope no one saw me voguing on my balcony though.

Every outfit looks better with jewelry, and lots of it.
