Happy Monday everyone. Sorry for falling off the map for a few days. Mono has been kicking my butt, I think I am finally headed to full recovery as week three rolls in.
This illness has been as mental as it is physical. By that I mean, trying to stay positive and giving myself time to heal has taken a toll on my spirits. I am a busy body who can’t sit still for long, so having to give in to being sick and laying around for days on end is making me crazy.
I had to give myself time to accept this crappy situation and allow myself to feel my emotions. I know we train ourselves to be positive minded and strong. Sometimes though, we have to face our feelings and I needed to feel sorry for myself, I needed to say “yes, this sucks, this isn’t fair, I am tired of this”. I needed a moment of self pity, but honestly I think as humans we need that. We can’t feel and act rosy all the time, feeling pain and pity are a natural part of being human.
Yes, I know I am not dying, this will go away eventually, but I can’t change the way I feel. We have to go through good and bad times and experience them fully so that when times ARE good, we can appreciate them even more. I was dealt a dirty card, but I have to realize that things can always be worse and that this will be over one day, hopefully sooner than later.
So, enough preaching on my soap box for you, now on to what is on my mind. As spring approaches I am anxiously trying to control myself from jumping the gun and buying new clothes. I try to not indulge in shopping until the true spring trends have hit the stores. I hate transitional periods like this one. From December through March, I wait. Seriously though, I am so ready for winter to end. I miss the sun, wearing sandals, and having stable weather of warmth.
I literally keep dreaming that I am at the beach every night. I don’t know if I ever shared this, but since childhood I have always wished of being a mermaid. Seriously, the smell of salt water, sand between my toes, and the sound of crashing waves make me the happiest girl in the world.
Since I will not let myself shop, I spend my sickly days surfing the web for spring shopping teases. I like knowing what is coming and keeping on top of trends. Here are three dream outfits of mine for spring. I hope you enjoy! These can all be found on my polyvore.
This is probably my favorite, hippie inspired, romantic. I love the flower crop top.
I love this sweatshirt inspired dress, it’s sporty and chic.
I love mixing prints and I feel like spring is the best time to do so. This preppy outfit is adorable!
I hope you enjoyed this post, I got a little personal, but I think of this blog as kind of a diary of sorts. I put so much time into it and feel so connected to you guys! So once again, thank you so much for reading, I love you for it.
Hope your week is going great so far.
until next time,
stay cute, stay sweet.
