So, I always blab to you about how crucial knowing how to style your wardrobe is, but I think maybe I need to show you guys more of how I do it. A lot of people think I have a ton of clothes, which…regardless of whether I do or not (my husband will tell you I do), it looks like I have more than I really do because every time I wear something…I style it differently. Here is a perfect example of so.
I wore this outfit the other day to work. Call me old fashioned, but I am not a fan of showing skin in the workplace. Not to mention the office is freezing, so having a lightweight cardigan, or blazer is not even a question.
This sheer tunic is lightweight and easy. I finished it off with this striped sweater, which so much reminds me of Chanel. But no way is it. 🙂
I am wearing also, my black leggings and gold gladiator sandals.
So there is my look for the office. Now, with the same key elements and few minor tweaks…see this outfit transform.
In a matter of 5 minutes I had another outfit on, without changing! I took my sweater off, swapped my sandals for wedges, dabbed on some lipstick, and tied my hair in a bun. Then, topped my outfit off with this dainty gold necklace.
I have seriously done this in the past. If I was going out after hours, I would bring some swap out pieces in the car and do a quick switch. It’s kind of like giving yourself a quick refresher.
Notice though, how my tunic looks completely different because now the open shoulders are exposed. The outfit went from corporate cozy to flirty fun!
Hope this insight into my styling gave you some great ideas to apply to your own wardrobe. You don’t always have to buy new clothes, if you know how to really get your wear out of what you already have. 😀
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway, I announce the winner on Wednesday!
until next time,
stay cute, stay sweet.
