Happy Friday love! Yes, finally the weekend is here and the week of rain we have had is leaving, perfect timing! 😀 I feel the need to also mention that my family received the most amazing news today. Last Thursday, the doctor reviewed results of a MRI done to my dad’s liver. As I mentioned earlier, my dad was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma cancer, but the cancerous tumor in his knee has been removed. However, he had to get a full body scan done to make sure it had not spread. Normally cancer will show up in the lungs if it spreads, but my dad’s lungs look fine. Yet, there was a lesion seen on his liver. The doctor told my parents that it could be cancer, or liver disease and ordered a biopsy for this Monday. Needless to say I was horrified that we were potentially starting all over again with another case of cancer in his body. We all prayed and held our breaths to get the call today, that the biopsy results are negative! So for now, my dad is cancer free! He will routinely get scans done to check for any changes, but for now…all is well. He goes to radiation 5 days a week and physical therapy 3 days a week. God is good my friends. 🙂 Thank you to all who kept us in your thoughts and prayers!
As for today, I want to share another edition of Friday Favorites featuring some of my current obsessions. Click on the images to see more! Hope you enjoy…
1. Spring Trend, denim dresses.
So, I don’t know if I have mentioned before that I actually HATE wearing pants and that even goes as far as jeans. Yes, I know that sounds crazy right? The thing is, I hate anything around my waist. Dresses are SO comfortable and for me, easier to move around in. It’s actually something I can’t stand about myself because people always say, “you look dressed up, I feel like I need to change” if I am going somewhere with anyone in general. But I am most comfortable in a dress, sue me! So the fact that denim is being showcased in the form of a dress is up my alley! It’s a versatile piece that can be worn so many ways.
2. Essie’s spring line: “Flowerista”
Since Lola pup came into the picture, I feel like I have no more me time, I know…selfish! But I AM a girl and I like acting like one. I am crushing over these latest spring colors by Essie. I can’t wait to get a mani this weekend and I am particularly loving those nudes.
3. Spring recipe: Strawberry Poke Cake
Well you already know, I have a sweet tooth and one of my favorite things about spring is all of the fresh and yummy dessert options! This recipe from Taste of Home, has my mouth watering. I can’t wait for Easter festivities and treats.
4. Lauren Conrad’s Cinderella Collection for Kohl’s
It’s hard to come across someone these days who doesn’t like Lauren Conrad, even just a little bit. Her feminine and simplistic style is so classic and she always seems to be a trendsetter of new ideas. Combine that with Disney’s Cinderella and you have the most perfect pair! What girl doesn’t want to be a princess? I am OBESSED with her new Cinderella collection only found at Kohl’s.
5. Home Goods inspired – “Book Nook”
So you would think that in one year’s time of moving into a new house it would feel cozy, like home, and finished. Nope, we are reaching our one year mark in the new house and I still feel flustered to make the house look and feel cozy and “homey”. So far, I have a lot done, but I am always brainstorming for new and interesting ideas to really make our house even better! I love this concept of book nooks I found on Home Goods blog. I knew it was trouble when a store location popped up ten minutes from our house. Sorry wallet!
6. Cara Loren Van Brocklin’s Shop
I have talked about the blogging fashionista and beauty Cara Loren before! She is absolutely gorgeous and her style is equally so. I was so excited to hear about her new line she launched featuring women’s and children’s clothing alike! I especially love this easy going tee.
Well there is just a few fun things I am dreaming about for spring. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a sun filled and fabulous weekend friend!
until next time,
stay cute, stay sweet.
